Róis, whose work merges the traditional Irish practice of keening with avant‑garde electronic sounds, has announced a global reissue of her album Mo Léan. The expanded version will be issued by Domino, marking the first time the record is available worldwide.
In an interview conducted by Deirdre Anna Rose Kelly, Róis discussed themes of national and personal grief, the complexities surrounding external romanticisation of Irish culture, and the influence of the Irish language on her music. She also noted a desire for celebration and fun alongside her artistic pursuits.
The interview was accompanied by photographs taken by Anthony O'Connor and was first reported by The Quietus.
